This course aims to instruct beginners in the basic skills of Botanical Illustration; build on the abilities of students more familiar with the subject; and enhance the techniques of observation, recording detail and composition of those at a more advanced level. Working in pencil, pen and ink, and watercolour to create unique Botanical Illustrations, students will be carefully guided through the processes, and given step by step instructions and demonstrations.

• A4 drawing pad
• Pencils 2H, HB, and 2N
• A rubber and sharpener
• Tracing paper
• Kitchen towel
• Water colour paper
• Water colours
• Brushes- Size 1 & 6, and an old brush for mixing
• A pallet
• 2 water pots
• A small plant or flower
• A table easel if possible
