Who Is The Course For?
This course is perfect for everyone, whether you're a seasoned artist or just someone who enjoys creative expression. If you've ever stashed away artworks that didn't quite make it into frames, this is your chance to give them new life. Don't worry if you don't have a pile of materials; our tutor will provide everything you need to explore this exciting technique.
Day 1
Your tutor will introduce you to some basic principles that will help you create eye catching mini collections of works for your journal. We will get going with some warm-up exercises that will help you bring new life into your pile of papers. We will move on to some principles of collage and practice applying these to our work. We will finish off with a whistle stop tour of simple methods for creating additional papers to complement your own, and create some textured papers ready to use the following day.
Day 2
Your tutor will suggest some themes for additional journal pages for you to work with during the day. We will take a look at how journalling might be used to explore and/or record events of personal significance. Reflecting on the work created over the two days, we will discuss how grid journalling can be used as a kick starter for further creativity.
