A fun and exciting two-day workshop learning the techniques of batik (hot wax resist) on tissue, paper & fabric with Jenny O’Leary on day one and learning a number of print techniques - Thermofax printing, stencils and stamps with Alison Hulme on day two which will be applied to your batik surfaces.

On day one with Jenny, you will explore markmaking using a wide variety of traditional & nontraditional tools, think potato mashers & whisks! to apply the hot wax to papers, tissue paper and cotton fabric then layering with inks and more wax. You may choose to create abstract images and patterns or work towards a theme such as simple landscapes.

On day two with Alison, you will learn how to print on to these batiked surfaces using thermofax screens and stencils. Alison has a huge range of screens etc allowing you to work to a theme should you choose to. No experience is necessary as both techniques will be taught from scratch.
