Course Description

The ancient art of paper cutting is brought bang up to date with this one day workshop.

You will master cutting safely and accurately using a scalpel and get to grips with creative freehand lettering to design your own unique paper cuts. You will start with some simple practical exercises, then design a monogram, and move on to design and cut out something more complex using typography as a starting point. Highly rewarding, great fun and just a little bit addictive!

Finished paper cut panels can be framed, made into cards or mobiles or used to decorate a window. The skills that you learn will also enable you to design and cut out stencils for printing, something you might want to experiment with at a later date.

Materials Cost

There will be a charge of £5 to cover the cost of scalpels, cutting mats, papers, pencil, resource sheets. Christine will also bring inspirational material. This is payable directly to the tutor.
