Gel plate printing is a type of monoprinting that uses a soft, flexible, and reusable gelatin-like plate to create unique, layered prints on paper or textiles without the need for a traditional printing press. The process involves applying paint or ink to the plate and then transferring the design onto paper or fabric by pressing the surface onto the plate.
You will start with the basics of gel printing on paper using a variety of printing blocks, stencils and texture-making tools. You will then move on to printing on, and with fabric. This is a super quick and fun process so lots of prints can be achieved in a short space of time!
