Course Description

Unlock your creative freedom and expression by experimenting with different artistic mediums and find inspiration to develop your own personal artistic style and talent. In this workshop, you will make unique textural drawings and paintings depicting natural objects from life, by layering watercolour, wax resist, pen, ink, pencil and soft pastel on watercolour paper,.

In this workshop you will learn how to create the flow of watercolour washes, play with colour mixing and wax resist, try out ink drawing techniques and discover how to apply soft pastel to your work to make unique textural layered work depicting natural objects from life and from reference photos.

Suitable For

This course is suitable for beginners or improvers alike.

Requirements List

  • Black Indian ink
  • A black drawing pen 0.8mm
  • A pencil
  • A rubber
  • A pad of watercolour paper
  • Mixing palette/tray
  • A nib dip pen (optional)
  • Watercolour paints
  • A large watercolour brush
  • A jam jar
  • A drawing board
  • Low tack masking tape
  • A few natural objects (flowers, foliage etc.)

I will provide picture reference but do bring some if you have something you’d especially like to work on.
