Create a textural fabric and metal cloth hanging using patterns from nature. Transform translucent metal fabric with applied layers of beautifully coloured textured sheer fabrics, adding machine and hand embellishments. The chiffons can be applied by hand or machine stitch, after which you will add interest and complexity to the surface using cut away techniques with combinations of scissors, soldering irons and heat guns, then add more stitch, beads and wires to add further dimensions.
This workshop achieves results more quickly if using a sewing machine for some of the time, however hand stitchers will also have no difficulty in creating a lovely, textured artwork. Use the technique to create your wall panel or hanging, a three-dimensional sculpture, a wearable accessory, a vessel, a book cover decoration, or a lamp cover etc.
