Ella drew the figure constantly as an aspiring teenage fashion designer, as well as the boys in detention in the art room at school. She has since taught life drawing for Winchester School of Art, Waterperry Gardens, Jelly, Reading and Lund Studios, York.
Now based in her Oxford studio, Ella studied MA Fine Art and BA hons Textile Art at Winchester School of Art, after a Foundation at Oxford Brookes.
Ella has taught art through independent workshop programmes for nearly 25 years and currently runs workshops at Waterperry Gardens and on Zoom. She was formerly Visiting Lecturer in Life Drawing at Winchester School of Art, and Visual Arts Therapist at The School of Life, London.
Ella works primarily in contemporary watercolour and exhibits widely, including national competitions at the Royal Watercolour Society and Royal Institute, also Darle & the Bear, Woodstock, RonaPainting Gallery, Oxford, Frickleton Fine Art, Tunbridge Wells and the Oxford Art Society.
