I come from the Yorkshire Dales where our fields are surrounded by dry stone walls. You will create a panel that could be a picture or cushion cover front.

After designing your wall by preparing sketches you will transfer your design onto white cotton grid. You will be using mainly natural chunky wools from the sheep of the north such as Herdwick, Rough Fell, Wensleydale, Swaledale, Jacob etc.

During the day you will learn about different styles of walling throughout UK and the wildlife and plants that they support. Details will be added with hand dyed yarns to represent ferns, lichens and mosses.

You will be using an old technique called locker hooking. Build up your design stone by stone.
