Course Description

Create a woven seascape and dream of looking over the waves! Weaving onto strong linen warp threads, you will employ a variety of tapestry and weaving techniques, and weaving techniques including Soumark, Giordes knots, and Rya tassels to create patterns, textures and 3D effects. A wide selection of materials from hand dyed yarns, Wensleydale curls and sparkle threads to create shimmering light on the sea will be supplied by the tutor and you are welcome to bring your own wools and threads. Finally, the warp threads are knotted to create an illusion that your weaving is caught up in a fishing net and decorated with sea shells and small beach combing treasures.

When your weaving is complete you can display it on a piece of driftwood.
