Course Description

You will learn about the history of marbling and, using eco acrylic paints flicked on a marble water bath, simple tools and comb rakes, create up to 5 heritage patterns, leading to a complex combed pattern to be transferred to paper.

You will create patterns on a variety of papers to understand the effect of translucency and opacity of paper and how plastic can affect the outcome. During this workshop students will also create gift wrap, a concertina folded notebook, and an introduction to bookbinding.

Requirements List

It is recommended that you wear old clothing and shoes. Aprons and gloves, are provided.

Materials Cost

There will be a charge of £30 to cover the cost of all materials. This is payable directly to the tutor.
