Katerina Wild
Since early in life Katerina Wild has been exposed to and influenced by Czech folk art & craft. She experiments with various techniques and materials derived from the Czech tradition. Katerina studied History of Art to deepen her knowledge and understanding of influences, techniques and materials but also to investigate impact of visual art on society.
Recently, her work is focused on felt which as a medium is very versatile. Katerina’s felt work is known for its bright contrasting colours and eye-catching colour scheme. She is influenced by objects of daily use as well as nature and is very much intrigued by details, form and structure.
Katerina is experienced in running, not only, ‘Felt Flower’ workshops with people from various walks of life, Ukrainian refuges, adults as well as children locally. She sees creativity and the process of making as a nice way to switch off for a moment from demanding activities of daily life and routines. She has exhibited her work at the ‘Open’ at Old Fire Station, Oxford and she works consistently on commissions.
