Amy Harris
Amy is a textile artist and Senior Lecturer in Art and Design at Oxford Brookes University. Her practice celebrates the power of craft to bring people together — to share skills, stories, and a sense of connection through making. With a passion for sustainable design, Amy encourages others to slow down, value materials, and rediscover the joy of creating by hand.
Through her teaching and community projects, she promotes thoughtful, sustainable approaches to textiles that honour traditional techniques while addressing the challenges of modern consumption. Whether in the studio or workshop, Amy believes that every act of making can strengthen community, nurture wellbeing, and remind us of our shared responsibility to the world around us.
