Jenni Matthews works as a vocalist, musical director and workshop leader. Her mission is simple: to make singing accessible to everyone, regardless of experience. She began her working life as a secondary school Music practitioner, teaching in a range of single-sex and mixed schools. Inspired by the BBC’s Gareth Malone, she decided to abandon full-time secondary teaching to fulfil her mission to encourage people from 1 to 100 to give singing a try.

Alongside vocal teaching in a range of Oxfordshire primary schools, Jenni has run community choirs and organised vocal workshops for various groups, although some of these have taken a temporary back seat over recent times in order that Jenni can manage her duties as a mum of two small children! She loves encouraging people to sing, and enjoys nothing more than seeing the buzz it gives as people exceed their own expectations. She hates to hear people say ‘my music teacher told me I couldn’t sing’ – because you can!
